DRIVER

Molly ‘MJ’ Spalding

Molly ‘MJ’ Spalding has already carved out a name for herself in Australian motorsport, and she’s only just getting started.

A proud South Australian, MJ was crowned the 2022 Australian Junior Rally Champion, then went on to finish runner-up in the prestigious FIA RallyStar program in India, competing for a World Rally Championship contract. In 2023, she represented Australia at the FIA Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship, bringing home two gold medals and a silver, the most individual medals of any competitor across five disciplines and 18 countries.

In 2024, MJ backed it up by finishing runner-up in the Australian Rally Junior Cup, narrowly missing the title after a hard-fought season. Now in 2025, she is stepping up to tackle the Classic 4WD Cup in a Subaru WRX with long-time co-driver Matt Dillon, continuing her push to stay competitive at the top level of the national championship.

With an infectious energy, calm confidence behind the wheel, and a growing reputation as a natural leader and brand ambassador, MJ is quickly becoming one of the most recognisable faces in the sport. Her ability to connect with people — whether fans, sponsors or fellow competitors — sets her apart both on and off the stages.

co-driver

Matt Dillon

Matt Dillon is a highly experienced co-driver, team manager, and motorsport all-rounder with a career that spans off-road, SXS, tarmac and gravel rallying. With a reputation for calm precision in the car and sharp strategy out of it, Matt is a cornerstone of the Spalding Dillon Australia team.

He began in off-road racing, claiming two Australian Pro-Lite Off-Road Championships and founding Enki Racing, which became one of Australia’s top SXS teams. He was also part of the founding group behind the CAMS Australian SXS Championship, working alongside Sam Beck and former ARC officials to launch a series that drew stars like Cody Crocker, Simon Evans, Molly Taylor, RJ Anderson and Toby Price.

In 2018, Matt made the switch to full-time special stage rallying — tackling both gravel and tarmac events — and quickly found success. He won the 2019 Victorian Club Rally Series Championship, before going on to collect podiums and class results across the country.

In 2023, he partnered with Molly Spalding for the FIA Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship in Malaysia. Their partnership has continued into the 2024 and 2025 ARC seasons, competing in the Classic 4WD Cup with a growing list of strong performances.

In 2024, Matt also competed at the Otago Rally in New Zealand, representing Australia in one of the world’s most iconic gravel events. Later that same year, he was awarded the Motorsport Australia ARC Spirit of the Championship Medal — recognising his inspiring return to top-level rallying after a serious spinal injury. His comeback has become a powerful example of resilience in the sport.

Beyond the co-driver seat, Matt plays a central role in the Spalding Dillon operation — managing media, sponsorships, mentoring junior teams, and supporting the crew with strategy, setup, and logistics. His passion for the sport, both at the elite and grassroots level, makes him a driving force behind the team’s culture and success.

service team

Tony - Crew Chief

A man who’s seen the guts of mining giants and the bottom line of financial empires. He knows the value of horsepower—and the cost of failure.

Shane - The Architect

Nobody really knows where Shane goes between rallies. Holds land speed records, builds the unfixable, and sails solo when the rest of us are sleeping.

Lachie - The Fixer

Grew up in a family where misfits are the standard and motorsport runs thicker than oil. Got a degree in race cars and a PhD in comebacks. Quickest wit in the paddock… don’t even try to keep up.

Abby - The Apprentice

Quiet until it counts. Misread by most, underestimated by all. Give her the green light and she moves fast, hits hard, and doesn’t flinch—no matter how rough the job gets.

Matt C - The Ghost

Works on machines that fly at Mach speeds. Keeps this one just as sharp. Precision in every breath, but gentle as a golden retriever—unless you cross the line.

Kiralee "Kiz" - The Eye

Queensland born, rally-trained, Motorsport Australia approved. Kizz captures the chaos and turns it into art. Sharp behind the lens, sharper in post.

Kiara - The Heart

She’s the spark when morale dips, the calm when tension spikes. Doesn’t just talk team culture—she wrote it. One mantra. One rule: Keep it tidy.
