Matt Dillon is a highly experienced co-driver, team manager, and motorsport all-rounder with a career that spans off-road, SXS, tarmac and gravel rallying. With a reputation for calm precision in the car and sharp strategy out of it, Matt is a cornerstone of the Spalding Dillon Australia team.
He began in off-road racing, claiming two Australian Pro-Lite Off-Road Championships and founding Enki Racing, which became one of Australia’s top SXS teams. He was also part of the founding group behind the CAMS Australian SXS Championship, working alongside Sam Beck and former ARC officials to launch a series that drew stars like Cody Crocker, Simon Evans, Molly Taylor, RJ Anderson and Toby Price.
In 2018, Matt made the switch to full-time special stage rallying — tackling both gravel and tarmac events — and quickly found success. He won the 2019 Victorian Club Rally Series Championship, before going on to collect podiums and class results across the country.
In 2023, he partnered with Molly Spalding for the FIA Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship in Malaysia. Their partnership has continued into the 2024 and 2025 ARC seasons, competing in the Classic 4WD Cup with a growing list of strong performances.
In 2024, Matt also competed at the Otago Rally in New Zealand, representing Australia in one of the world’s most iconic gravel events. Later that same year, he was awarded the Motorsport Australia ARC Spirit of the Championship Medal — recognising his inspiring return to top-level rallying after a serious spinal injury. His comeback has become a powerful example of resilience in the sport.
Beyond the co-driver seat, Matt plays a central role in the Spalding Dillon operation — managing media, sponsorships, mentoring junior teams, and supporting the crew with strategy, setup, and logistics. His passion for the sport, both at the elite and grassroots level, makes him a driving force behind the team’s culture and success.
